In honor of March Madness, The Red Ledger has created a similar competition for its readers. Through daily polls, four different areas of sweets will be ranked and advance according to whichever sweet receives the most votes on the poll. When the competition is down to the final four, taste tests will be available at lunches.
Scoring
For every winner predicted in the first round, participants receive one point. For every winner in the second round, two points are awarded. For every winner in the third round, participants receive three points. For the quarterfinals, each winner is worth worth four points. For the semifinals, each winner is worth five points. If the correct champion is predicted, the participant will receive six points.
There will be one winner based on points. In addition, every participant that correctly predicts the champion will receive a prize in the form of the sweet predicted. For instance, if Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream is correctly predicted as the overall champion, all students who correctly guessed this will receive Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream as their prize.
How to participate

For the final four (Tuesday, April 9), there will be taste tests available in the lunch room, with ballots available to help determine the winner.
