Lewis finds new home as geography teacher
December 3, 2012
With Tara Evans stepping up to teach APUSH, the administration was given the task to hire someone to teach geography to the freshmen. Homa Lewis was hired to teach this subject and started the first Monday back from Thanksgiving break, November 26.
“I taught in Plano for nineteen years, and taught AP World History, US History, and World Geography before moving here to Lovejoy,” Lewis said.
The students have adjusted nicely to having a new geography teacher. With Evans being some of the student’s favorite teacher, it wasn’t easy.
“Mrs. Lewis is a terrific teacher. It’s really nice that they got someone to step in that actually knows how to teach this subject,” freshman Jak Barth said. “She knows what she’s doing so I can’t complain.”
Having just started, Lewis is already enjoying the hard work and attention she’s getting from her students.
“The kids are extremely nice and kind. They’re hard working, and they don’t give me trouble,” Lewis said.
