Senior Anisha Srivastava ended her team tennis career with a match winning singles win in a third set tiebreaker that gave the Leopards a 10-9 advantage over the Ennis Lions, placing the Leopards 5th in Regionals.
The Leopards easily beat their first opponent, North Dallas, 10-0 Friday morning, advancing to a regional quarterfinal against Frisco Centennial.
The Leopards were seeded ahead of Centennial; however, they were unable to pull out some third set matches and ended up losing 10-8. Head coach Adam Cherry called the loss one of the most disappointing of his career.
Rebounding after the tough loss, the Leopards beat Corsicana 10-5 and then went on to beat Ennis 10-9.
The tennis season will resume in January with the individual portion of the season.
