Running to State

A few athletes are getting ready for one of the biggest races in their lives under the spotlight of Myers Stadium in Austin for the track and field high school state meet. Traveling down there is returning state champion junior Katie Ruhala in the 3200 with an attempt to defend her title after an injury-plagued season. Also going down is first-timer junior Ashley Bassett, who is competing in the 300m hurdles. The defending state champion 4×400 team is also returning, led by senior Kensey Berry along with sophomore Cassie Conarty, junior Sydney Prendergast, and sophmore Shani Rainey.
