The big day had arrived. The day that every girl dreams of looking gorgeous and dancing the night away with a special guy. Of course, I’m talking about prom.
8:00 a.m.
My alarm clock went off and I immediately began prom preparation for a typical high school girl.
8:15 a.m.
I jumped in the shower, then ate a little bit of eggs and a Redbull- I knew it would be a long day.
10:00 a.m.
I drove to the Collin Creek Mall to get my nails, toes, and eyebrows done. This cost a total of $55 and ended up taking two hours, which put me behind schedule.
12:30 p.m.
I had to rush to McKinney and pick up my flower for my date, then speed to make it to my hair appointment at Toni & Guy at 1:30. My mom calls to tell me I need to pick up my dress at two (just one more things I had to add to my list).
(Side note: The biggest tip I can give to a girl getting her hair done is never rely on a picture. Your hair will probably not end up looking like a celebrity’s. I saw three girls crying because they didn’t like it.)
2:45 p.m.
When my hair was all done it cost me $75. By the end of prom I will be broke…
3:30 p.m.
I arrived back at my house and my date was already there, I wasn’t dressed yet, and I was exhausted.
4:00 p.m.
My whole group of 32 was at my house exchanging flowers and taking quick pictures for parents. By the time everyone was there, I was dressed and ready. The whole prom stress had been lifted from my shoulders.
4:10 p.m.
The party bus arrived and we were off for a night we would never forget. We ate amazing food and danced the night away with our dates and my girls.
Prom is very stressful, especially for a girl. It’s amazing what we are willing to go through to look and feel like a princess for one night. Prom will be forever in my heart as the best night of my whole high school experience- except the part where I had to run around just to get ready for this special night.
