Fresh off second place at the Allen Open, the varsity volleyball team traveled to Pearland for the Nike Volleyball Classic. The Leopards swept day one, defeating Lake Travis, Brandies, and Deer Park. Day two started with another quick win over Georgetown followed by a closer but victorious win over Plano West.

Beating Plano West put the Leopards in the quarterfinals match against Lake Travis. It was apparent to fans and coaches that the team was not themselves when they lost 12-25 and 13-25, pushing the girls out of the gold bracket.

The next match was against San Antonio’s Johnson. Johnson won the first set 20-25, The Leopards battled back winning set two 25-20 forcing a set three. Johnson did not let the most recent loss aggect them though, defeating Lovejoy 25-17.

The girls finished the day against Kingwood winning 25-18 and 25-13 putting them at 7th out of 84 teams at the Nike Volleyball Classic.
