Little things: I think that this story was definitely one of my more recent favorites. Calla always does an amazing job at writing in a way that is deeper than surface level. This story specifically was a favorite of mine because of how Calla captured the bond between Kailey and her mom. It reminded me of my relationship with my mom. I also really liked how the story shares details outside of their love for running. I think that this story really highlights Callas skills and shows that she can take something as common as the relationship of a mother and daughter and turn it into an interesting story to read.

Years that shaped me: I really enjoyed reading this column because it’s different from the ordinary. When thinking about columns, I picture a page or two full of “me” this or “I” that. I thought it was really interesting to learn about Lily from a different perspective. It was also cool to see how people’s lives affect their future generations. All together, it was one of my favorite columns because Lily stepped outside of the box.

Valentines Day runs on Dunkin’: This taste test and rating was so much fun to be a part of. Though eating donuts and drinking iced coffee is something that I do frequently, I loved being able to do it along with the other editors. Not only did all of the items that we reviewed taste good, but it was also a great bonding experience. Hannah also did a great job on the graphic like she always does. Her design was so playful and fun. She really did Dunkin’ justice.

Dancing with love: Personally, I loved this story because it was about dance. Specifically though, I thought that the way that Calla took the readers to the stage with Julie Snow was amazing. As a retired dancer, I think this story was a very good tribute to dancers and the way that the art of dancing works. My favorite part for sure was the lead. Calla is so talented with coming up with leads and adding in descriptions that I would never think of. As a writer and a dancer, I am proud of this piece.

Zoomed out: Last but not least, I loved this column. I am so proud of Hannah seeing as though she has never written on staff before. She has done such a good job this year designing graphics and contributing other things to the website and I feel like this column shows how well rounded she is. This piece was very relatable and something that I think everyone could connect to. Overall, I am just so impressed with her writing skills.
