After a 12-3-2 record to end the cancelled season last year, the Leopards boys team looks to pick back up where they left off.

“I think the team is going to start off really strong, and if we continue with our work ethic, we will thrive during the season,” senior outside midfielder Gavin Moore said. “Even though we lost some seniors, the senior class and upcoming underclassmen as well as the juniors coming into the program offer a solid line for the coming season.”

The season begins on Jan. 7, so the Leopards are currently getting or prepared.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we were unable to showcase our talent in the playoffs. Last year’s group was ready to dance in the show,” head coach Alex Duran said.  “We did win another district championship which was a great accomplishment. As far as this year’s group is concerned, they have the capability to win another district championship and with uncertainty in the age of COVID-19, will do whatever it takes to take advantage and make this a successful season, especially for our 14 seniors.”

The team lost senior players to graduation but retained the majority of players from the year before.

“Currently we are in our off-season where we focus on individual and collective instruction,” Duran said. “What are our strengths? What type of system would we benefit from using in this case? Who is willing to compete for a starting spot and be ready come game day?”
