The Red Ledger: Why did you want to be a part of the drumline? 

Derek Dang: I wanted to be a part of the dirty drumline because I wanted to be with my friends and I’m a great hype man.

TRL: What type of energy are you going to bring to the games?

DD: All I bring is litenergy. I get everyone hyped and excited, overall positive energy.

TRL: What is your plan on getting the crowd going?

DD: I plan on screaming at them and telling them to get hype and start banging the drums.

TRL: What are you most excited for about being on the dirty drumline?

DD: I’m most excited to be at the games and be in overalls. I’m excited to have a voice to get everyone engaged.

TRL: How does this year’s drumline compare to last year’s?

DD: I think it will be equally the same, maybe better, maybe not. COVID-19 has made a huge impact on the student section.

TRL: Do you believe your efforts will motivate the team?

DD: I most definitely think that we’ll motivate the team and the students.
