Freshman Chloe Schaffer

I was at my grandma’s house just chilling on the couch [when I found out.] I was upset about it. I told everyone because I thought they should know, and then everyone told me it was fake. So that made me upset too. But then I found out it was real, and I was sadder. He was a big advocate for women’s basketball. He had an impact on my life because I’m in women’s basketball too. He was really pushing how [women] can just be just as good as the guys, and how there are people who could be in the NBA who are girls. Me and Kobe had matching WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) hoodies, and I thought that was kind of exciting when I saw that. I will remember him as an amazing person on and off the basketball court, who always did what it took to follow his heart and help others.
