TRL: Did you choose to come to the U.S. or did someone else choose for you?
Alessia Bellometti: I’m here with my program, everyone has to write in order of preference ten countries, and then they choose for you.
TRL: What is your favorite part about America?
AB: The pervasive optimism that things can, will and do get better, if only one is willing to work hard enough.
TRL: What’s your favorite part about Texas and/or Lucas?
AB: The kindness of the people
TRL: Was it difficult for you to decide to come to the U.S. for a year?
AB: No, I’ve always wanted to do an exchange year. I love travelling and discovering new things. This is the best choice that I could have ever done, even if sometimes it is really hard.
TRL: What are you looking forward to most this year?
AB: I want to change some aspects of myself, and I want to be independent.
