A love for art and a desire to represent the school system are qualities the district is looking for in a contest to create a new logo to represent 100 years of Lovejoy Schools.

The contest is open to all district students. The winner of the logo contest will have their work displayed on the district’s website, social media, t-shirts, and possibly banners and other printed materials.

“We are looking for innovative ideas from students that capture the celebration of Lovejoy centennial,” said Stacey Dillon, assistant to the superintendent.

Interested students can submit original art, 2-D media and digital art in any format. The art must not exceed 24” x 30.” Designs may include a slogan, for example, “Love Where You Learn,” and students are allowed to incorporate the existing Lovejoy ISD logo into their new design.

Submissions may include line art, text but no photographs. The design must be original work and must not use any copyrighted material.

“We don’t have any format,” Dillon said. “We are looking for students’ ideas and student-generated artwork.”

All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 10. All submissions must include the completed submission form. Students can turn in their designs and forms to their campus art teacher, or email a .jpg submission to [email protected]. Students can also hand deliver or mail their work to the red building–attn: Centennial Logo Design Contest, 259 Country Club Road, Allen, TX, 75002.
