Football, cross country and volleyball teams are all in action this weekend to close out the first week of school.

The football team is facing the Mansfield Legacy Broncos on Friday, Aug. 28. The Broncos beat the Leopards last year in a shootout, 54-35. This year the Leopards seek revenge and look to even out the two game series. The matchup is a home game for the Leopards, though the contest will be played at the Lowery Freshman Center in Allen, due to construction delays on the press box here.

Early Friday morning the Leopard cross country teams ran in the Cowtown Challenge in Haltom City. The girls varsity team finished in sixth place, while the boys varsity team finished in first place. The next cross country meet is the UTA Gerald Ritchey Invitational at Lynn Creek Park on Sept. 19.

The Leopard volleyball team is currently competing in the PSA Lone Star Circle of Champions in Murphy. So far, the Leopards have swept both JJ Pearce (25-17, 25-14) and Keller (25-19, 25-16). In the team’s third pool play game they beat Pearland in three sets (25-16, 20-25, 25-16).
