The Leopard football season kicks off tonight with an away game against the Mansfield Legacy Broncos.

Leopard football kicks off the official 2014 season tonight, taking on Mansfield Legacy. Here’s a look at tonight’s opponent.

Returning Starters:

5 offense, 5 defense

Strengths:

Defensive lineman Taaj Bakari, who had six sacks and 44 tackles, will be returning for another season with the Broncos. Last season, wide receiver Gentry Ivery caught 10 passes for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns. Legacy’s defense was lead by linebackers Xavier Coffey and Daniel Nyandika.

Notes:

The Broncos lost running backs Kijana Amous and Kenton Mayberry as well as quarterback Terrance Ivery who were vital members of last year’s team. In 2013, Legacy averaged 39.8 points per game, losing in the regional semifinals to Highland Park.
